Professional Bio:

Michael L. Wise, the principal attorney of the firm, received a B.S. degree with honors from the University of Chicago in 1989, a Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from Stanford University in 1994, and a law degree, magna cum laude, from Touro Law Center in 2005.

His graduate work focused primarily on novel techniques for depositing materials on semiconductors. While at Stanford, Michael received graduate fellowships from both the National Science Foundation and AT&T Bell Laboratories.

After graduation, Michael did his post-doctoral studies at AT&T Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, NJ from 1994 through 1996, where he developed advanced laser-based semiconductor characterization techniques.

More recently, Michael acted from 1996 through 2002 as a process and integration engineer in a joint development effort between IBM and Infineon Technologies to develop next-generation integrated circuits. As an attorney, he also spent several years at the patent law firm of Ryan, Mason & Lewis, LLP, where he did patent prosecution and opinion work for several Fortune 500 companies.

Michael has co-authored more than 25 scientific journal articles and is himself an inventor of numerous patents. He is a member of the New York Bar and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Personal Bio:



Michael lives in the Hudson Valley of New York with his wife Merrie and their rat terrier Rio.  When not working, he enjoys riding motorcycles, flying airplanes, and scuba diving. He is also involved in several animal rescue groups and does pro bono (volunteer) legal work for the less fortunate through the Legal Services of the Hudson Valley.
